Gérard Haddad is a french psychoanalyst and psychiatrist. He was born in Tunisia in 1940 and studied to became an agricultural engineer. In 1969, he began with Jacques Lacan his psychoanalysis and started his medical studies. His meeting with the jews master Yeshayahou Leibowitz radically influenced his thought. He wrote several books on jewish thought and psychoanalysis relationship (L’Enfant illégitime : Sources talmudiques de la psychanalyse, Hachette Littératures, 1981; Lacan et le judaïsme, Desclée de Brouwer, 1996; Le péché originel de la psychanalyse, Seuil, 2007). His research is actually focused on thinking about the origin of fanaticism.
